The fifth round of the ERC comes this weekend to the Azores in Portugal, a classic rally on land with narrow and very fast sections. It seems that this year will be even more difficult due to the weather conditions: rain and wind.
As a surprise in this rally we will have the presence of a WRC driver like the Spanish Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20 R5).
It will certainly be a very fun rally for all the spectators.

La quinta cita del ERC llega este fin de semana a las islas Azores en Portugal, rally clásico sobre tierra con tramos estrechos y muy rápidos. Parece que este año será aún más difícil debido a las condiciones climáticas: lluvia y viento.
Como sorpresa en este rally contaremos con la presencia de un piloto del WRC como es el español Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20 R5).
Con toda seguridad será un rally muy divertido para todos los espectadores.

Il quinto appuntamento del ERC arriva questo fine settimana alle isole Azzorre in Portogallo, rally classico sulla terra con tratti stretti e molto veloci. Sembra che quest'anno sarà ancora più difficile a causa delle condizioni climatiche: pioggia e vento.
Victory for the veteran Italian driver Giandomenico Basso (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) in the third round of the ERC at the Rally di Roma Capitale in Italy.
Basso managed to beat compatriot Andrea Crugnola (Hyundai i20 R5) by just 36 seconds, although both drivers fought for first place throughout the rally the Hyundai driver suffered a puncture and Basso again won a European Championship rally.
Also incredible was the fight for the podium that was only decided by 3 tenths of a second in the final stage. Great rally of the Hungarian Norbert Herczig (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) who was third and of the Spanish Efrén Llarena (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) who almost touched with his fingers the podium.
Fifth was always the regular Polish driver Mikołaj Marczyk (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), sixth was the Italian Fabio Andolfi (Škoda Fabia R5), seventh was the Romanian Simone Tempestini (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), eighth with very little pace throughout the weekend the Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), ninth the Irish Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5) and tenth the Czech Erik Cais (Ford Fiesta Rally2).
Among the retirements are the Spanish Nil Solans (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), who suffered a small road exit, and the Rusian Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 Rally2) who suffered a spectacular accident.
With the retirement of the Russian the overall championship classification is very exciting.
In the ERC2 Category comfortable victory for the spanish Javi Pardo (Suzuki Swift R4LLY S) followed in second place by his team-mate the Andorran Joan Vinyes (Suzuki Swift R4LLY S) and third was the Polish Dariusz Poloński (Abarth 124 Rally RGT).
In the ERC3 category we had a great duel between the top 3 drivers. First was the Spanish Pep Bassas (Peugeot 208 Rally4), 2.7sec behind theFrench Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (Renault Clio Rally4) and only a tenth of a second behind the Spanish Alejandro Cachón (Peugeot 208 Rally4).
In the ERC Junior victory for the Estonian Ken Torn (Ford Fiesta Rally3). In the ERC3 Junior completed the podium: Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (Renault Clio Rally4), Alejandro Cachón (Peugeot 208 Rally4) and the Finnish Sami Pajari (Ford Fiesta Rally4).
In the Clio Trophy victory for the Italian Andrea Marbellini (Renault Clio RSR Rally5), second the Argentine Paulo Soria (Renault Clio RSR Rally5) and third the French Ghjuvanni Rossi (Renault Clio RSR Rally5).
The next ERC event will be held in the Czech Republic at the Barum Czech Rally Zlín (27-29/08/2021).

Vittoria per il veterano pilota italiano Giandomenico Basso (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) alla terza prova del ERC al Rally di Roma Capitale in Italia.
Basso è riuscito a battere per soli 36 secondi il suo connazionale Andrea Crugnola (Hyundai i20 R5), anche se entrambi i piloti hanno lottato per la prima posizione durante tutto il rally il pilota di Hyundai ha subito una foratura e Basso ha di nuovo vinto un rally del Campionato Europeo.
Incredibile è stata anche la lotta per il podio che è stato deciso solo per 3 decimi di secondo nell'ultimo tratto. Grande rally dell'ungherese Norbert Herczig (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) che è stato il terzo e dello spagnolo Efrén Llarena (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) che ha quasi toccato con le dita il podio.
Quinto è stato il regolare polacco Mikołaj Marczyk (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), sesto è stato l'italiano Fabio Andolfi (Škoda Fabia R5), settimo il rumeno Simone Tempestini (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), ottavo con pochissimo ritmo durante tutto il fine settimana il norvegese Andreas Mikkelsen (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), nono l'irlandese Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5) e decimo il ceco Erik Cais (Ford Fiesta Rally2).
Tra gli abbandoni spiccano lo spagnolo Nil Solans (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), che ha subito una piccola uscita di strada e il russo Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 Rally2) che ha subito un incidente appartato.
Con l'abbandono del russo la classifica generale del campionato è molto emozionante.

Basso consiguió vencer por sólo 36 segundos a su compatriota Andrea Crugnola (Hyundai i20 R5), a pesar que ambos pilotos lucharon por la primera posición durante todo el rally el piloto de Hyundai sufrió un pinchazo y Basso volvió a ganar un rally del Campeonato Europeo.
También fue increíble la lucha por el podio que tan sólo se decidió por 3 décimas de segundo en el último tramo. Gran rally del húngaro Norbert Herczig (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) que fue tercero y del español Efrén Llarena(Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) que casi tocó con sus dedos el podio.
Quinto fue el siempre regular polaco Mikołaj Marczyk (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), sexto fue el italiano Fabio Andolfi (Škoda Fabia R5), séptimo el rumano Simone Tempestini(Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), octavo con muy poco ritmo durante todo el fin de semana el noruego Andreas Mikkelsen(Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), noveno el irlandés Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5) y décimo el checo Erik Cais (Ford Fiesta Rally2).
Entre los abandonos destacan el español Nil Solans(Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) que sufrió una pequeña salida de carretera y el ruso Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 Rally2) que sufrió un aparatoso accidente.
Con el abandono del ruso la clasificación general del campeonato está muy emocionante.

After the Poland Rally the second round of the European Championship came to the Liepāja Rally in Latvia, a rally very fast and only fit for brave.
The winner was fast Russian driver Nikolay Gryazin (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) who drove 17 seconds ahead of second-placed Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5). Third was also other Russian and current ERC champion Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 Rally2) getting some very important points for the championship.
We can be sure that if Nikolay Gryazin is focused and doesn´t suffer any incident, thanks to his speed he will always occupy the top positions. The young Russian, if he continues to evolve, can become a star of this sport.
Great result for the Spanish Efrén Llarena (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) who achieved a well-deserved fourth place despite feeling more comfortable on the tarmac. Fifth was Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) who lost all options to achieve the podium due to a 1-minute penalty.
Sixth finished the Polish Mikołaj Marczyk (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) who in this rally was very regular after the great work done in the first round of the championship. Tras el Rally de Polonia la segunda cita del Campeonato Europeo llegó al Rally Liepāja en Letonia, un rally muy rápido y sólo apto para valientes.
El ganador fue el rápido piloto ruso Nikolay Gryazin (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) que aventajó en 17 segundos al segundo clasificado el irlandés Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5). Tercero fue el también ruso y actual campeón del ERCAlexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 Rally2) consiguiendo unos puntos muy importantes para el campeonato.
Podemos estar seguros que si Nikolay Gryazin está concentrado y no sufre ningún incidente, gracias a su velocidad siempre ocupará las primeras posiciones. El joven ruso si sigue evolucionando puede convertirse en una estrella de este deporte.
Gran resultado para el español Efrén Llarena (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) que logró una merecida cuarta posición a pesar que se siente más cómodo sobre el asfalto. Quinto fue el noruego Andreas Mikkelsen(Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) que perdió a toda opción por el podio debido a una sanción de 1 minuto.

The Russian Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 Rally2), the reigning European champion, won the opening round of the ERC in the ever-challenging Polish Rally.
Lukyanuk got a big advantage over second-placed Andreas Mikkelsen (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) who was managing on Sunday, in the end the Russian beat the Norwegian by 18 seconds.
Meritorious third position of young Polish Mikołaj Marczyk (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) who will undoubtedly be a reference driver at international level.
Several drivers had to abandon due to various problems including Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5) and Nikolay Gryazin (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) both candidates for victory.

Lukyanuk consiguió una gran ventaja sobre el segundo clasificado Andreas Mikkelsen (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) que fue administrando durante el domingo, al final el ruso aventajó al noruego en 18 segundos.

El polaco Wojciech Chuchała (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) fue sancionado con una penalización de 1 minuto por llegar con retraso a un control horario y el francés Yoann Bonato (Citroën C3 Rally2) perdió varias posiciones debido a un problema en el motor de su Citroën.
Cuarto fue el español Nil Solans (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) que demostró un gran nivel, seguramente será uno de los favoritos para conseguir la victoria del Campeonato Europeo. Quinto fue el húngaro Norbert Herczig (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), sexto el español Efrén Llarena (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), séptimo Wojciech Chuchała, octavo Yoann Bonato, noveno el checo Erik Cais (Ford Fiesta Rally2) y décimo el polaco Grzegorz Grzyb (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo).
En el ERC 2 esta temporada debuta los vehículos R4/Rally2 Kit. Gran iniciativa para salvar a la segunda categoría del Campeonato Europeo que en los últimos años ha sido un poco olvidada.
Primero y con gran ventaja sobre el segundo clasificado fue el español Javi Pardo (Suzuki Swift R4LLY S), a más de un minuto finalizó el ruso Dmitry Feofanov (Suzuki Swift R4) y tercero fue el francés Victor Cartier (Toyota Yaris Rally2-Kit).
En la ERC 3 el ganador fue el finlandés Sami Pajari (Ford Fiesta Rally4), segundo el francés Mathieu Franceschi (Peugeot 208 Rally4) y tercero el español Pep Bassas (Peugeot 208 Rally4).
En la ERC 3 Junior el primero fue Sami Pajari, segundo el rumano Norbert Maior (Peugeot 208 Rally4) y tercero el alemán Nick Loof (Ford Fiesta Rally4).
La próxima prueba del ERC será en el Rally Liepāja 2021 (01-03/07/2021) en Letonia.

Il russo Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 Rally2) attuale campione del Europeo ha ottenuto la vittoria all'appuntamento inaugurale del ERC al sempre difficile Rally della Polonia.
Lukyanuk ha ottenuto un grande vantaggio sul secondo classificato Andreas Mikkelsen (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) che è stato amministrato durante la domenica, alla fine il russo ha superato il norvegese in 18 secondi.
Meritoria terza posizione del giovane polacco Mikołaj Marczyk (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo) che sarà sicuramente un pilota di riferimento a livello internazionale.
